We have a situation that has arisen because of the Mountain View Corridor.  Along Daybreak Parkway we originally had 3 lanes of traffic plus one lane of parking near the new U of U medical center to accommodate traffic making its way to the interchange.  As a result of the new frontage roads we no longer need three lanes of traffic and one lane of parking.  We only need two lanes of traffic and one lane of parking.  I was thinking it may be a good project for the student to develop concepts and recommendations for how we should remove that third lane effectively.  May be striping, full reconstruction or something creative that has never been done.  I actually have a consultant who will be starting this same work in the next couple of months so this might be a good project for the students to help provide input to that process.
