Bluffdale Stormwater Conveyance
A subdivision west of Redwood Road, and south of Bangerter Highway, experiences flooding with even small amounts of rainfall. The problem is the storm drain system is far from complete. Only a few storm drain inlets currently exist. They collect water but that is where the system ends. Storm water backs up, because the inlets aren’t connected to anything, and flooding occurs. The team assigned to this project will need to: Assess the current drainage needs, including estimating rainfall and runoff quantities; estimate the quantity of runoff conveyed in the storm drains; design a detention system if necessary that will ultimately convey the water to the Jordan River Canal.
