Brackish Water Treatment Plan
I live in St. George and have a sub-surface stream of brackish (considerable dissolved salts) running in a culvert under my property. It produces probably 5-10 gallon per minute flow, and I have considered a couple of possible uses, and wondering if it could be done at an acceptable cost. One possible use is as a medium for a ground-sourced heating and cooling system, similar to a neighbor who uses an extensive array in his large backyard area. The other use I’ve considered is to create an active solar powered system to make the water potable, either for home or irrigation use. This could possibly be done with a solar powered distillation or a photovoltaic powered active system.
